Westphalia Retirement Center: Skilled Nursing Bedroom

We have a 64 bed skilled nursing center for residents who have suffered from a prolonged acute or chronic illness. Individuals who have been injured or recently undergone surgery may also require skilled medical services.

Skilled Medical Services:

Wound Care Services: Suitable for individuals who have wounds obtained as a result of surgery, trauma, disease processes, or unrelieved pressure. Wound care services may include surgical and non-surgical procedures, intravenous administration of antibiotics, and nutritional support.

Intravenous therapy: May include hydration, administration of antibiotics and other medications, pain management, and maintenance of intravenous lines.

Cancer services: May include hydration, pain management, and post treatment care of radiation and chemotherapy.

Digestive Disease Services: Includes enteral nutrition and administration of antibiotic therapy.

Skilled Rehabilitation Services:

Physical Therapy: The goals of our physical therapy program are to obtain the maximum functional ability of each individual by increasing the strength and flexibility of joints and muscle and to reduce pain.

Occupational Therapy: The goals of our occupational therapy program are to achieve independence in performing daily activities and to improve joint mobility, strength, and endurance.

Speech Therapy: The goals of our speech therapy program are to obtain maximum speech function and to improve swallowing difficulties by teaching individuals techniques to use to improve swallowing abilities.

General Nursing Care

We also provide general nursing and restorative care to individuals who cannot care for themselves at home due to chronic illness, frailties of the advanced aging process, or physical and mental impairments. Our goal is to provide the most optimal care and comfort to obtain the highest quality of life and dignity.
