Is there a "buy in" required?

No - we at Lake Ozark Retirement Center do not require you to "buy in." You hold your own assets.

May I bring my pet?

We know how important your pet is to you. Your family may bring your pet to visit but it would be very difficult to allow all of our residents to keep their pets here on a permanent basis.

Do you have a Smoking Policy?

To insure the safety of our residents and employees a Smoking Lounge is provided for residents and guests.

May I have overnite guests stay with me, if I provide a bed?

Yes, your family and friends are welcome to share your home with you.

May I do some cooking in my room?

The apartments do not have outlets for stoves. The Dietary Department provides three (3) full meals daily. Every dining experience is an opportunity to enjoy good food and good company.

I still drive my car. Can I keep it?

Yes, as long as your physician and family feel you are not at risk to self and/or others.

Not at this time.

How do I pay for my apartment?

Apartment rent is due and payable by the first of each month. Certainly, if the first of the month falls on the weekend, you may choose to pay in the business office daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Or if you prefer you may mail your rental payment to the business office. As a courtesy we will send you a monthly reminder several business days before the end of each month.

Can I get a personal telephone in my room?

You certainly may. Each apartment is equipped for a private telephone line. A family member or you may speak with the telephone company directly. At this time, they will be asking you questions such as to whom and where the bill may be sent and the type of service that you prefer.

If I need to go to my local physician, how will I get there since I do not drive?

Our staff will drive any resident to and from local doctors and we will also keep track of the date of appointments. If family members choose to drive our residents, let us know and we will keep track of the appointment dates for you.

If I need someone to look after me after a recent stay in the hospital, and I plan to return home can I just stay until I feel stronger?

At Lake Ozark Residential Care, we accommodate those individuals that need a short term stay due to health related concerns, no matter what the time frame is. Just come and stay with us as long as you like or need to.

I really enjoy staying with my family from time to time, can I still do that?

We encourage our residents and their families to continue enjoying their time spent with each other. Since our apartments are rented, each occupant can spend as much time away from their apartment as they choose.

I would really prefer having someone keep track of my medications for me, can someone at Lake Ozark Residential Care do that for me?

Our professional staff will monitor and dispense medications for you. We also will communicate with your physician's office in regard to your medications.

I am on a special diet, as my Doctor advised me to be. Can I get diabetic meals at no charge?

We offer three meals per day including regular and special diets, which are included in the reasonably affordable rates.
